On Monday the committee who appointed by the council of ministers to asses and monitor rape cases has held a meeting in the ministry of justice religious affairs and constitution. The meeting was attended by all ministry members and international organizations.
The minister of justice who is chairperson of the committee opened the meeting by welcoming the committee to the ministry and thanked for their work. The minister then handed over the meeting agenda to the members for discussion.
The minister members listened a report from The Ministry of Women, Development and Family Affairs and Attorney General Office.
The minister members also discussed Asiha Ilyaas’s case. Aisha was raped and murdered Members promised flow up.
The following was agreed;
- High court should nominate special judge for rape cases.
- To conduct research on reason behind rape.
- To harmonize and coordinate rape cases information in order to response.
At the end members agreed to work together and find a solution to the said problems.
